Basic terms

Tether (تيثر)

The company that issues USDT; the same name is used for the coin. According to its terms, the issuer is Tether International, S.A. de C.V., which moved from the British Virgin Islands to El Salvador. Full guide: What is Tether (USDT)?

USDT

Tether’s ticker, which Tether also writes as USD₮. Tether says each token is pegged 1-to-1 to the US dollar and 100% backed by its reserves. Its price in dinars now: USDT price today.

Stablecoin (عملة مستقرة)

A cryptocurrency designed to stay close to another currency, usually the US dollar, instead of swinging in price. Tether (USDT) is one example.

Blockchain (بلوكتشين)

A shared digital record where transactions are written in blocks, one after another, and cannot be undone once final. It is what records USDT moving from one address to another.

Network and fee terms

Network (شبكة)

The blockchain a transfer runs on, such as TRON or BNB Smart Chain. The sender and the receiver must use the same network; sending on the wrong one can lose the funds, especially between TRON (addresses start with T) and BEP20 (addresses start with 0x). Read TRC20 or BEP20.

TRC20

The token standard on TRON, where Tether issues an official version of USDT. A TRON wallet address is 34 characters long and starts with T.

BEP20

The token standard on BNB Smart Chain. Tether does not list an official USDT contract on this network; the token people call “USDT BEP20” is shown on BscScan as BSC-USD, a dollar-pegged token issued by another company. Addresses start with 0x and are 42 characters long.

ERC20

The token standard on Ethereum, one of the networks where Tether officially issues USDT. Its addresses start with 0x like BEP20, but they are two different networks.

TRON and TRX (ترون)

TRON is the blockchain behind TRC20, and TRX is its own coin. If your account does not have enough network resources for a transfer, some TRX is burned to pay the fee.

BNB Smart Chain and BNB

BNB Smart Chain is an Ethereum-compatible network that runs the BEP20 standard. BNB is the coin its network fee (gas) is paid in.

Network fee / gas (رسوم الشبكة)

What you pay the network to process a transfer. It is paid in the network’s own coin or resources, not in USDT: TRON resources or TRX on TRC20, and BNB on BEP20. When you buy from Vexjo on TRC20, the network fee is already in the JOD price.

Energy and Bandwidth

TRON’s two fee resources. Every transaction uses Bandwidth, and each activated account gets a free amount every day. Smart-contract calls, such as a USDT transfer, also use Energy, which has no free amount.

Wallet and safety terms

Wallet (محفظة)

An app or device that holds the keys controlling your USDT and lets you send and receive. How to choose and set one up: USDT wallet guide.

Self-custody wallet (محفظة حفظ ذاتي)

A wallet where you hold the private key and recovery phrase, so nobody else can move the balance. The other side: if you lose the phrase, you may lose the funds.

Custodial wallet (محفظة لدى جهة)

A balance that another party, such as an exchange, holds for you; it holds the keys. Easier to use, but you rely on that party when you want to withdraw.

Wallet address (عنوان المحفظة)

A string of letters and numbers where you receive USDT, like a bank account number. On TRON it starts with T; on BEP20 and ERC20 it starts with 0x. Copy and paste it, then check the whole address before every transfer.

Private key (المفتاح الخاص)

The secret code that proves you own an address and lets you move its balance. Whoever knows it controls your funds, so never share it.

Recovery phrase / seed phrase (عبارة الاسترداد)

A set of words your wallet gives you when you create it, used to restore the whole wallet on any device. Write it on paper and keep it safe; never photograph it, message it, or give it to anyone who claims to be support staff.

Address poisoning (تسميم العناوين)

A trick where a scammer sends a tiny amount from an address that looks like one you have used, hoping you later copy it from your history by mistake. Check the whole address, including the middle characters, not just the start and end.

Flash USDT (فلاش USDT)

Fake tokens named USDT that appear in a wallet and then disappear shortly after, sold online for buying and selling scams. A name proves nothing: check the token’s contract address against Tether’s official page. More in the USDT safety checklist.

Blockchain transfer terms

Transaction ID / hash (رقم المعاملة)

A unique ID for every transfer on a blockchain. Enter it in an explorer to check the transfer, or send it to the other party as proof that the funds were sent.

Block explorer: Tronscan / BscScan (مستكشف البلوكتشين)

A website that shows every transaction on a network: Tronscan for TRON, BscScan for BNB Smart Chain. Enter a transaction ID or an address to see the amount, the token’s name and contract address, and the status.

Confirmation and finality (التأكيد والنهائية)

A confirmation means the transaction is in a block; finality means it can no longer be reversed. According to TRON’s docs, the network makes a block about every 3 seconds and a transaction becomes final in about a minute. BNB Chain’s docs give “fast finality” in about 1.125 seconds in most cases (as read on 24 October 2026).

Price and trading terms

Buy price and sell price (سعر الشراء وسعر البيع)

The buy price is what you pay in dinars for 1 USDT; the sell price is what you get when you sell it. The gap is the dealer’s margin. Right now, on a 1,000 USDT order: buy at 0.740 JD and sell at 0.685 JD per USDT. Every amount: USDT price today.

Market price vs official rate (سعر السوق وسعر الصرف الرسمي)

A market price is what a dealer buys and sells at right now. The Central Bank of Jordan publishes the official exchange rates for currencies and does not set an official rate for USDT. That is why this site labels USDT prices “market price”.

OTC (over-the-counter)

A direct deal with a dealer or a dedicated desk instead of a normal in-app order, usually for large amounts or special payment methods. Vexjo’s OTC desk handles bank transfer (IBAN) or cash and any size, through the Vexjo team on WhatsApp.

P2P (peer-to-peer)

Direct trading between individuals: one person offers USDT and another pays in dinars, often through a marketplace inside an app or a social-media group. If you are the seller, do not send USDT until you see the money in your own bank account.

Swap (تبديل)

Exchanging one virtual asset for another directly, such as TRX for USDT inside a wallet or an app. Jordan’s law lists “exchanging one virtual asset for another” among the activities it regulates.

Locked (مقفل)

A balance that shows in your account but is held back for now, so you cannot withdraw or use it, for example because it is tied to an order that has not finished. It usually appears apart from your available balance.

Payment terms in Jordan

CliQ (كليك)

Jordan’s instant payment system, launched by JoPACC on 10 June 2020, used inside your bank’s app 24/7. You send to an “alias” (a name, mobile number or email) or to an IBAN, inside Jordan and in dinars only, up to JD 10,000 per transfer; your bank may set a lower or daily limit. The sender cannot pull back a sent transfer on their own. Read buy USDT with CliQ.

IBAN

International Bank Account Number, used for bank transfers; you can also send to an IBAN through CliQ.

JoPACC

The Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (الشركة الأردنية لأنظمة الدفع والتقاص), which owns and runs CliQ under Central Bank of Jordan supervision.

Authorities and law

Central Bank of Jordan (البنك المركزي الأردني)

Publishes the official foreign-exchange rates on its website and, since 1995, has kept a fixed rate for the dinar against the US dollar at a mid-rate of 709 fils per dollar (0.709 JD). CliQ is under its supervision.

Jordan Securities Commission (هيئة الأوراق المالية)

The body that Law No. 14 of 2025 gives the power to license and supervise virtual-asset service providers and check their anti-money-laundering compliance. To ask the JSC about a particular company’s status: its website or 06 5607171.

Virtual-asset law (قانون الأصول الافتراضية)

Officially the “Law Regulating Dealing in Virtual Assets of 2025”, Law No. 14 of 2025. It defines a virtual asset as a digital representation of value that can be traded or transferred digitally and used for payment or investment, and it covers virtual-asset services provided in Jordan for others. Details: Is USDT legal in Jordan?

VASP (مزود خدمات الأصول الافتراضية)

A virtual-asset service provider: a company that provides virtual-asset services to others, such as running a platform, exchanging crypto for dinars, custody or brokerage. As of 23 October 2026, no company holds a virtual-asset service provider (VASP) licence from the Jordan Securities Commission. On 22 September 2026 the JSC stated that no VASP is licensed by it and that applications are still under review.

Travel Rule (قاعدة السفر)

A FATF rule that requires virtual-asset service providers to collect sender and receiver information and send it with each transfer. In the FATF survey published in July 2026, 91 of 109 jurisdictions had passed Travel Rule laws.

Verification terms in trading apps

Phone verification (التحقق من رقم الهاتف)

A step where an app confirms the phone number is yours, usually with a code sent by text message. That code is for you only; never give it to anyone who calls or messages you.

Identity verification / KYC (مصادقة الهوية)

Proving who you are to the company you deal with, usually with an official ID. It is part of the anti-money-laundering requirements Jordan’s law places on virtual-asset service providers, which include getting data on the parties to each transfer.

Payment verification (التحقق من الدفع)

Checking that a payment has really arrived before a deal is completed. When you buy from Vexjo, its team confirms your payment, then USDT goes to your wallet automatically. If you are the one receiving money, check it has reached your bank account; a screenshot is not proof.
