USDT (Tether) wallet in Jordan: how to choose and use one safely
In short
A Tether (USDT) wallet is a tool, usually a phone app, that holds your keys and gives you one address per network: an address starting with T for TRC20 and one starting with 0x for BEP20, and when you receive you pick the network that matches the address. More important than which app you choose is keeping your recovery phrase away from everyone, and holding a little TRX or BNB so you can send later.

What is a USDT wallet?
A Tether (USDT) wallet is a tool, usually a phone app, that holds the “keys” controlling your balance. The USDT itself is recorded on the blockchain, not inside your phone; the wallet proves it is yours and lets you send it.
Every wallet has an address for receiving, a bit like a bank IBAN: you give it to whoever sends to you, and sharing it is safe. What you must never share is the recovery phrase or private key, explained below.
In Jordan you need one before you buy USDT with dinars (it is sent to your address), and to sell or send abroad.
What is the difference between a personal wallet and a company-held wallet?
In a personal (self-custody) wallet, only you hold the keys, through your recovery phrase. In a company-held wallet, the company holds the keys for you and you reach your balance through your account with it.
| Personal wallet | Company-held wallet | |
|---|---|---|
| Who holds the keys | You | The company |
| If you lose your phone | Restore it with the recovery phrase on a new device | Log in and follow the company’s steps |
| If you lose the recovery phrase | The money may be lost for good | You usually do not need one |
| Sending fees | Paid from your wallet in the network’s coin (TRX or BNB) | Set by the company |
| Biggest risk | Losing the phrase, or someone else getting it | Losing access to your account with the company |
A personal wallet means full control and full responsibility, so start with a small amount.
In Jordan, Law No. (14) of 2025 lists holding (custody) and managing virtual assets among the activities it regulates, and requires a provider to keep its own money and assets separate from its clients’. As of 23 October 2026, no company holds a virtual-asset service provider (VASP) licence from the Jordan Securities Commission. On 22 September 2026 the JSC stated that no VASP is licensed by it and that applications are still under review. Details: is USDT legal in Jordan?.
How do I set up a wallet that supports TRC20 and BEP20?
We do not recommend a specific app, but these general steps fit most personal wallets:
- Download the app only from your phone’s official store, never from a link in a message or an ad.
- Choose “Create a new wallet”, not “Import”, unless you already have a recovery phrase of your own.
- Write the recovery phrase on paper, in order, as soon as it appears.
- Set a passcode for the app and lock your phone.
- Make sure the wallet supports the network you need: TRON for TRC20, BNB Smart Chain for BEP20. Some apps make you add USDT on each network yourself.
- Test with a small amount before receiving a large one.
With a company-held wallet, you open an account and take the receiving address for the right network from it.
What are the recovery phrase and the private key?
When you create a personal wallet, the app gives you a recovery phrase: a list of words in a set order. Whoever has these words can rebuild your wallet on any device and control all its addresses.
A private key is a secret that controls one address; you do not need it day to day. Anyone who knows either one can take what is in the wallet.
Keep the phrase on paper in a safe place, ideally two copies in two places. Do not photograph it, store it in notes, email or cloud storage, or type it into any website.
Why should I never share my recovery phrase?
No support team, platform, USDT seller or “Tether employee” needs your recovery phrase or private key. Anyone who asks wants your money.
The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) says scammers pretend to be government agencies or well-known companies. If someone contacts you to “verify your wallet”, “unfreeze funds” or “recover money” and asks for the phrase, end the chat. A sender only ever needs your address.
How do I find my TRC20 or BEP20 address?
In most apps: open USDT, tap “Receive”, then pick the network. The address appears with a QR code and a copy button. Use the button; do not type it by hand.
| Network | Address starts with | Length | Sending fee paid in | Explorer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TRC20 (TRON) | T | 34 characters | Network resources, or TRX if short | Tronscan |
| BEP20 (BNB Smart Chain) | 0x | 42 characters (0x plus 40) | BNB | BscScan |
Why is my address different on each network?
One app can show USDT on more than one network, but each network has its own address: one starting with T on TRON, one starting with 0x on BNB Smart Chain. The rule is one address per network, and the sender must use the network your address belongs to.
Note that “USDT” on BEP20 is not the token Tether issues. Tether lists no USDT contract on BNB Smart Chain; the token called “USDT BEP20” there is a dollar-pegged token issued by another company, and BscScan shows it as BSC-USD. On TRON, Tether lists USDT officially as a TRC20 token. The full comparison is in TRC20 or BEP20?.
Why do I need TRX or BNB in my wallet?
Receiving costs you nothing, because the account that sends a transfer pays its fee. But when you send later, to sell or to pay someone, you need the network’s own coin:
- TRON (TRC20): a USDT transfer uses a resource called Energy; if your account lacks it, some TRX is burned to pay.
- BNB Smart Chain (BEP20): the network fee (gas) is paid in BNB.
That is why you can see a USDT balance and still be unable to send. Keep a little TRX or BNB for the network you use. We give no fee amounts, because they change with network conditions.
How do I receive USDT from Vexjo in my wallet?
Disclosure: this site is owned by Vexjo Virtual Assets LLC. About us
- Sign up on Vexjo. Sign-up is by invitation: the app asks for an invite code, which you can request from the Vexjo team on WhatsApp.
- Choose “Buy”, the amount, and the network that matches your wallet address: TRC20 if it starts with T, BEP20 if it starts with 0x. Follow the steps in the app.
- Pay in dinars with CliQ inside the app. Vexjo’s team confirms your payment, then USDT goes to your wallet automatically.
- Check your wallet, or look up your address on Tronscan or BscScan.
No extra fees: the price you see is what you pay, and on TRC20 the network fee (now 2 JD) is already in the JOD price. Full steps: how to buy USDT in Jordan.
What is address poisoning and how do I avoid it?
In “address poisoning”, a scammer sends a tiny amount to your wallet from an address that looks like one you have used, so it shows in your history. You might copy it by mistake next time. Never copy addresses from your history, save trusted addresses yourself, check the whole address including the middle, and ignore odd small transfers.
A related trick is fake “flash USDT”: tokens that show up as USDT and then vanish. Do not trust the name alone; compare the token’s contract address with Tether’s official list. More in the USDT safety checklist.
Can USDT in my wallet be frozen?
Yes. Tether’s terms let it freeze USDT and block addresses holding it when the law requires it, or when Tether decides it is prudent, for example for prohibited use. A freeze applies to the address itself, whatever kind of wallet you use. So receive USDT only from sources you know, and never let strangers pass money through your wallet for a “commission”.
What should I do before my first send?
| Before you send | Why |
|---|---|
| Ask the receiver for the network and get the address in writing | An address on one network does not work on another |
| Check you hold TRX or BNB | Without it the transfer may not go out |
| Send a small test amount first | It catches mistakes before the full amount goes |
| Keep the transaction ID (TxID) | You check it on the explorer and it proves you sent |

Frequently asked questions
What is the best USDT wallet in Jordan?
We do not recommend a specific app. Choose a wallet that supports the network you will use (TRC20 or BEP20), gives you a recovery phrase you keep yourself if you want a personal wallet, and download it only from your phone's official app store.
Is my TRC20 address the same as my BEP20 address?
No. A TRC20 address on TRON starts with T and is 34 characters long; a BEP20 address on BNB Smart Chain starts with 0x and is 42 characters long. Give each sender the address that matches the network they will send on.
Why can't I send USDT when my balance is there?
Check the fee coin first. Sending on TRON needs enough Energy or some TRX, and sending on BNB Smart Chain needs BNB.
Does anyone ever need my recovery phrase for a good reason?
No. No support team, platform or seller needs your recovery phrase or private key. Anyone who has them can take everything in your wallet.
What happens to my money if I lose my phone?
With a personal wallet you restore it on a new phone using the recovery phrase; without the phrase the money may be lost for good. With a company-held wallet you log in to your account and follow the company's steps.
Can USDT in my wallet be frozen?
Yes. Tether's terms let it freeze USDT and block addresses that hold it when the law requires it or when Tether decides it is prudent, for example for prohibited use. So receive USDT only from sources you know.
How do I receive USDT from Vexjo in my wallet?
When you buy, choose the network that matches your wallet address: TRC20 if it starts with T, or BEP20 if it starts with 0x. Once Vexjo's team confirms your CliQ payment, USDT goes to your wallet automatically.
